Beni-Suef University Council Approves Competition for Best Pioneering Faculty in Sustainable Development

The Beni-Suef University Council, chaired by Dr. Tarek Ali, President of the University, approved during its 249th session the organization of a competition to select the best pioneering faculty in the field of sustainable development, as part of the university’s efforts to promote sustainability principles and contribute to Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, deans of the faculties, and council members.

The university president explained that the competition aims to encourage faculties to adopt eco-friendly practices and enhance the participation of students and faculty members in activities and initiatives that support sustainable development issues, such as rationalizing energy and water consumption, waste management, expanding the use of clean energy sources, and raising community awareness of the importance of sustainability.

He emphasized that the competition will be conducted according to specific criteria, including research and applied projects in the field of sustainability, student initiatives, faculty plans to reduce emissions and improve the campus environment, in addition to measuring the impact of these efforts on serving the local community.

Dr. Tarek Ali pointed out that this initiative reflects the university’s commitment to being a model and a center of expertise in sustainable development, supporting innovation and creativity, and instilling a culture of resource conservation for future generations.
