Beni-Suef University Students Win Second Place among Egyptian Universities at the First National Forum for Sustainable Innovation at Tanta University

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, announced that students from the Scientific Activity Department won second place among Egyptian universities at the First National Forum for Sustainable Innovation, hosted by Tanta University with strong competition from more than 20 universities. The achievement came under the supervision of Captain Mohamed Farouk, Director General of the Youth Welfare Department.
The university president explained that the forum served as a national platform bringing together Egyptian university students in one arena to present their innovative ideas and solutions to contemporary global challenges, through dozens of projects and hundreds of creative minds. The university’s delegation succeeded in leaving a remarkable impression, presenting a bright image of the ability of young university students to compete with leading scientific minds.
Second place was awarded to a project entitled *“Clothes of the Future”* by student Abdel Rahman Ali Fathy from the Faculty of Science. The project represents a breakthrough in the textile industry, introducing self-cleaning, bacteria- and microbe-resistant clothing that contributes to environmental sustainability and reduces the use of harmful industrial dyes.
Students also presented several distinguished projects in various fields. Among them was a life-saving medical innovation by student Hossam El-Din Ahmed Mahmoud from the Faculty of Technology and Education, who designed a smart robot capable of remotely measuring body temperature, monitoring heart rate, and performing real-time ECGs around the clock, while enabling physicians to follow up on patients’ conditions remotely via a mobile application.
In the field of electric vehicles, student Youssef Adel Sayed from the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence introduced an innovative idea for self-charging electric car batteries, saving time and effort, promoting the adoption of electric vehicles, and reducing dependence on traditional charging stations—placing Egypt at the forefront of the future of green transportation.
Under the slogan *“A Hand that Gives Hope”*, student Mahmoud Ali Kamal from the Faculty of Technology and Industrial Education developed a prosthetic hand controlled by voice commands to assist people with motor disabilities—an innovation that reflects the humanitarian dimension of technology when combined with compassion, transforming it into a tool that changes lives.
Dr. Tarek Ali stressed that the university places great importance on scientific research and studies and is keen to encourage students to actively participate in various activities and competitions. He emphasized that this achievement goes beyond being an award or recognition—it is a clear message that university youth are capable of shaping the future, and that when creativity is given opportunity and support, it becomes an achievement that transforms reality.
