Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Nursing organized the World Polio Day activities, which falls on October 24th of each year. This was under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hanan Al-Zablawy Hassan, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Sherine Metwally, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and coordination of Dr. Sahar Sedky, Head of the Pediatric Nursing Department.
Dr. Tariq Ali explained that the focus on World Polio Day aims to raise community awareness about this dangerous disease and emphasize the importance of vaccination as a primary means of prevention and its eventual eradication. He noted that the event falls within the framework of the university's awareness-raising role in supporting the state's efforts to protect society from infectious diseases.
The event highlighted international and local efforts to eradicate polio, the importance of cooperation between governments, health institutions, and international organizations to achieve this goal, and the importance of strengthening routine immunization activities and monitoring communicable diseases to ensure a healthy and safe society.
