Beni Suef University Council Approves Training Course on Modern Techniques in Plant Tissue Culture at the Medicinal Plants Research Institute

The Beni Suef University Council, chaired by Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, approved in its 252nd session the organization of a specialized training course at the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute titled “From Lab to Farm.” The course will be conducted in collaboration with the Capacity Development Center and will cover the use of modern techniques in plant tissue culture. Dr. Mervat Hassan Mohamed, a researcher at the Genetic Engineering Research Institute of the Agricultural Research Center, will deliver the lectures. The course is scheduled to take place in December in the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Department.

Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that organizing such courses reflects the university’s commitment to supporting scientific and research development and providing advanced training programs that enhance the efficiency of academic and research staff while applying the latest techniques in modern agriculture.

Dr. Adel Gouda, Dean of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute, added that the course targets faculty members, researchers, institute students, and postgraduate students. It aims to strengthen their expertise in plant tissue culture by linking theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory applications, thereby developing their research skills and supporting their academic careers.
