The Faculty of Engineering at Beni Suef University organizes an awareness seminar entitled "Methods of Combating and Treating Addiction"

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Student Welfare Department at the Faculty of Engineering, in cooperation with the University's Social Solidarity Unit, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Methods of Combating and Treating Addiction." The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Hassan Bakheet, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Arafa Sayed Mohamed Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Ahmed Zeidan, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development. The seminar was presented by Mr. Alaa Shehata, Head of the Addiction Control Fund in the Governorate.
Dr. Tariq Ali explained that the seminar addressed the definition of addiction, the types of drugs that cause it, the difference between drug use and addiction, and the dangers of drugs to individual and societal health. The seminar also reviewed synthetic drugs, their health and psychological effects, and methods of prevention.
At the conclusion of the event, a dialogue was opened with the students, and their inquiries were answered in an atmosphere characterized by interaction and positive participation, reflecting the students' awareness and the university's keenness to expand the scope of health education to confront the danger of addiction.
