PHD Title
immune studies and response under the condition of nephrotic syndromes
PHD Abstract
Studies
on the effect of nephrotic syndrome on hemogram , urine, serum
biochemical parameters, humoral and cell mediated immunity and
histopathological changes of different organs in rabbits.
Nephrotic syndrome was induced by IM injection of mercuric chloride
(5mg/kg b.wt) for two successive days. The hemogram revealed anemia and
leucocytosis. Urine analysis showed acidic PH and presence of blood,
glucose and protein, while sediment examination demonstrated desquamated
tubular epithelial cells and granular casts. Serum biochemical analysis
revealed biphasic changes in the ALT, AST, AP activities, and uric acid
value. Levels of glucose, urea, creatinine, total lipids, cholesterol,
triglycerides, LDL, beta globulins were elevated. Whereas the study of
total protein, albumin, alpha and gamma globulins exhibited decreased
values. Immunological tests also showed decreased values.
