The Effect Of some Insecticides used In Veterinary Practice on Animal Performance

PHD Abstract

Summary This work was conducted in Beni-Suef governorate during the period from early March 2002 until the end of September 2004 in Beni-Suef Governorate. It aimed to clarify the problem of ectoparasite infestation among farm animals and evaluate the chemical insecticides commonly used in veterinary practice. This included a survey for detection of the prevalence of external parasites affecting animal populations and a field study for evaluating the chemical control method. Moreover, the study aimed to detect the consequent results and estimate the degree of insecticide activity as well as to record any adverse effects post insecticide application. The survey involved a total of 1829 animals (1231cattle and 598 buffaloes) related to three dairy farms in addition to those reared at the subsistence
