Research Abstract

A total of 22 cattle and 13 sheep tissue specimens including Lymph nodes (retropharyngeal, prescapular, prefemoral, internal iliac and supramammary) as well as spleen) were collected from animals after slaughtering under the supervision of the veterinary authorities. These animals were classified as brucella infected according to test slaughter policy applied by the veterinary authorities. Blood serum samples were collected and reexamined using BABAT , RBPAT and CFT in Beni Suef governorate. Brucella melitensis biovar 3 was isolated from 11(50%) seropositive cows and 6(46.15%) ewes.
