Animal Managemnt and behaviour

The farming of animals has played an important part in the development of human civilization; Food, clothing and transport are obtained by man from a wide variety of species. The species which were domesticated had to be suitable for providing meat, milk, eggs, wool etc. but they also had to have certain behavioural characteristic in order that domestication was possible. Many of the current animal husbandry problems are not soluble by investigation, nutrition, body physiology or disease control but require investigation of the behaviour of these animals before progress can be made towards a solution. Meaning of animal behaviour Animal behaviour includes all processes by which the animal senses the external world and the internal state of its body, and responds or reacts to do the changes which it perceives or understand. Many of such processes take place inside the nervous system. -Behaviour means the way by which the animal interacts with its surrounding environment, both animate and inanimate components.
